There’s no getting around it–YA is cool. I mean, what other genre allows readers to explore everything from unconventional superheroes, summer adventures, demons, zombies, vampires & ghosts, first loves and…of course…the swirling, gorgeous high society of 19th Century England?
I’m proud to be a part of a rich community of YA authors and readers who are excited and willing to try anything that looks like it might be a great story. My first YA, The Season, is out now…and I’ve got plans for more–both historical and contemporary–so stay tuned!

Hi Sarah. I do not normally write to authors, although I LOVE to read historical romances. I am writing to you to say that I really enjoyed your young adult historical romance, The Season, and my two teenage daughters did, too. As I’m sure you’re aware, there are not many romance novels in the same genre of historical romance, that are appropriate for a younger audience. That being said, I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of writing and general “enjoyability” of The Season and I want to encourage you to write more. My girls told me to say that they would love to read stories about Ella, VIvi, and the Stafford brothers. I have not read your adult romance novels, although I intend to, immediately, but I really hope you will continue to write for the younger audience, too. Thanks!!!!

Thank you so much for writing, Nicole! Unfortunately, I don’t have any more plans for other books in The Season series…but I do have plans for another YA! Stay tuned! And please come back to tell me what you think of the adult books!

Oh, please don’t say it’s so! Me and about 100 of my library patrons were on tenterhooks waiting for the other girls’ stories! Now I am going to have to break the news to them. At least I have the summer to do it. It was truly one of my all time favorite books. Thanks for the enjoyable read!

I just finished The season an I truly loved it, but I’m also sad What happened to Alex and Gavin? Why is there not going to be a second book to The Season?

Hi Sarah! I completely loved The Season! I am in love with historial fiction and the whole London season era especially. haha. I feel like I was born a century too late. haha. Well I think that it would be great if we could hear the stories of Ella, Vivi, Will, Kit, and Nick, and Freddie too. I understand that as an author, you may already have other projects planned, but it would be awesome if you would consider bringing their stories to life. Maybe tell the stories of two of the characters in one book, or mix it in there, but it would be spectacular to read another book like The Season, especially if it involves the other characters. Well, thank you so much for writting The Season, and I hope that you’ll be able to find the time to write more books like it for young adults.

Hey Sarah,
I am very fond of writing myself and was just wondering what your purpose might be for writing “The Season”?? It is a fascinating book and my daughters told me all about it!

I loved The Season. I think that you should write another book and make it a series. I was so sad when you said that there wouldn’t be another. Writing another book like the season would please so many people.
