I love the variety of answers I’ve been getting on the blog for my Eleven Questions in celebration of Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart…the variety of answers from all these romance ladies makes for super fun times! And today…I’m so excited to have Kate Noble join the party! Kate is a star…her books are incredibly romantic and lush and lovely, and her current release, Follow My Lead, is so so so yummy…and out now!
So…I asked Kate the same quick-and-dirty questions I’ve been asking romance authors all month long…and here’s what happened!
1. Alpha or Beta?
Beta. Alphas are too predictable.
2. Virgin Widow or Secret Baby?
Virgin Widow. I feel like you could keep virginity a secret easier than a baby.
3. Time Travel or Futuristic?
Time Travel. Preferably with Dr. Who.
4. Hot as Sin or Cold as Ice?
Cold as Ice. Cuz then you get to watch ‘em melt.
5. Spinster or First Season Out?
Spinster. I met the love of my life when I was 30. In regency times, I’d have been practically decrepit.
6. England or Anywhere but?
England! Only because I spent a long time not in England in Follow My Lead, and I was so happy to return to my character’s home again!
7. Vampire or Shape Shifter?
Vampire. Because you never know what your gonna get with a shape shifter. Yeah, wolves and cougars are cool, but what happens if they shift into a guinea pig? A flounder?
8. Small town or Big city?
Big City. Live it. Love it.
9. Wallflower or Belle of the Ball?
Belle of the Ball – which I personally would never be. I’m always envious of the ones who know all the dance steps.
10. Unrequited love or love at first sight?
Love at first sight that then goes unrequited until someone gets their head in gear and realizes what they’ve been looking for has been there the whole time. (Did I just reference a Taylor Swift song? Lord help me.)
11. Kate’s choice! Comment below for a chance to win a copy of Follow My Lead!
Readers: How do you like your heroes? Blond, brunette or redhead?
Oh, my…is this one of my favorite questions, or what? You can’t really go wrong with any of these answers! So…talk it out in comments, ladies…and we’ll choose one lucky winner on Monday to win Kate’s book! And…to tide you over until then…how about this fabulous book trailer??

Usually, I’m a “tall, dark and handsome” kind of girl, but ever since the royal wedding, I’ll admit to having a thing for the gingers.
(I love the cover of Kate’s book – beautiful!)
May 4th, 2011 at 11:03 am
I’m partial to the ‘tall, dark & handsome’ variety of hero…however, I’ve been known to fall in love with a blond! I don’t really like red hair maybe because redheads usually have freckles and I hate freckles! Does that make me sound trite?

Brunette. Nothing sells wicked and sexy like dark hair.
May 4th, 2011 at 12:31 pm
Definitely brunette there is just that certain something that seems more attractive than blond but you do get some that it totally works on!
Lovely interview !
May 4th, 2011 at 12:35 pm
I have a weakness for tall dark and handsome with green, gray or blue eyes ;) But there are some dark blonds I also like, it’s a very difficult question LOL
Great interview!
May 4th, 2011 at 12:41 pm
As long as the story is good, the hero’s hair color isn’t that important to me.
May 4th, 2011 at 12:41 pm
Brunette is my top pick. Redhead is my second choice – I am a fan of the gingers (and mother to one, he’s adorable and at age 2 already a lady-killer). Just added Follow My Lead to my wishlist and can’t wait to buy… just as soon as my husband gets the hint and orders my Kindle.
May 4th, 2011 at 12:44 pm
Hi, Ladies!
Kate,
I read your excerpt yesterday…love it! Trying so hard to win it! Would purchase, but life of the single mom and the many ‘I need/want’s of the end of school term for 3 kids doesn’t stretch far enough.
Sarah,
I caught you speaking with E. James the other day! Great interview! And yeah…ya latest is on my WISH list also *pouts*
As to the question of the day…me single…give me gallant, smooth-talking, sexy man and I wont belly-ache over a trivial matter of hair coloring, lol.

I’ve always gravitated towards dark haired, olive complexioned men (Greek, Italian). So dreamy!!
But even though my husband is a beautiful Greek man, nothing would have mattered if he wasn’t kn=ind & sensitive!!
May 4th, 2011 at 1:08 pm
I know it isn’t the usual answer, but I have a weakness for redheads.

I love these questions! I wish you would come out to visit us on the west cost! Specifically California!
Your first novel, Nine Rules started my obsession with romance novels believe it or not! :)
Thanks! I have not stop reading ever since! You’re a great writer!
May 4th, 2011 at 1:35 pm
Personally, I love a dark haired hero, preferably tall and handsome too, well hung wouldn’t go amiss either.
May 4th, 2011 at 1:36 pm
Thank you for your interview, Kate. The trailer for “Follow My Lead” is really cute and fun!
Blond, brunette, or redhead? Shucks, I wouldn’t even care if he’s bald, as long as he’s a real hero!
Good luck with your new release!
May 4th, 2011 at 1:45 pm
Brunette or darker! Blond guys seem whimpy to me for some reason (unless a dirty blond) and redheads are the nerds no matter what era!
May 4th, 2011 at 2:05 pm
I always thought I was partial to dark haired men until I met my husband. He is somewhere between red and blonde. Would that be strawberry blonde? Although he is more blonde than red.
May 4th, 2011 at 2:27 pm
Oh, definately dark! Nothing better than tall dark and handsome…. something you can really sink your fingers into :)
May 4th, 2011 at 2:59 pm
Dark…no question. There’s just something so mysterious and invigorating about a brooding male :) (sigh)
May 4th, 2011 at 3:39 pm
Dark hair for sure. I don’t mind redheaded heroines, but on a hero not so much.
May 4th, 2011 at 3:56 pm
Personally I like dark haired men. I’ve never really been attracted to blond haired men. Same goes for red heads but there’s always a first for everything. I guess I’m a traditional girl, I like tall, dark and handsome. LOL

I know that usually the hero is tall, dark and handsome–and I really do love that visual. However last year’s “If He’s Sinful” by Hannah Howell had the hottest blond guy on the cover–he totally converted me! *whew*
May 4th, 2011 at 5:02 pm
I like my heroes to be tall and good looking with blue eyes that have a sparkle in them.
May 4th, 2011 at 5:14 pm
It doesn’t really matter to me, but I do like it when they’re blond or even red headed.
Btw, I’m reading Fallow My Lead now and I absolutely love it! This is my first time reading one of your books, Kate, but I plan on buying the other 3 soon. :)
And please don’t enter me in the contest since I have the book already. I rather let someone who doesn’t have it win. :)

I love dark hair men but blondes and redheads are fine! I’m really not picky! Give me a super hot hero with a smokin’ bod and I won’t notice his hair color! LOL!
May 4th, 2011 at 6:17 pm
Haha, I was gonna call you out on the Taylor Swift song ;-)
And, hmmmm. I’m not picky when it comes to hair color, but if I had to pick…. I guess I would say brunette, cuz I like ‘em dark and mysterious :-)
May 4th, 2011 at 6:53 pm
Oh, definitely tall, dark and handsome. I had a mean next door neighbor with red hair, so I just don’t love the gingers. Prince Harry excepted, of course!
May 4th, 2011 at 9:30 pm
I like ‘em rude and not ginger.
Actually, I adore tall, handsome brunette heroes.Having dated all three hair types, I still prefer brunettes. Confession:first literary crush was Ned Nickerson Nancy Drew’s good looking boyfriend.
May 4th, 2011 at 10:28 pm
Thanks Sarah for having me over today — I love all your answers. Sarah reminded me of one hair color I forgot to throw into the mix: silver fox. What do you think?
May 4th, 2011 at 11:14 pm
Mmm…now there is a definite possibility. Makes one think of a man with ‘know how!’ *grins*
May 5th, 2011 at 11:24 pm
Silver can definitely bring the smexy :-)
May 4th, 2011 at 10:49 pm
I’d have to say brunette. The majority of crushes I’ve had over the years have had dark hair.
May 4th, 2011 at 11:14 pm
Black hair and blue eyes..to me one of the sexiest combinations. Although, I like green eyes a lot, too…but still the black hair. Yum
May 5th, 2011 at 12:53 pm
Dark hair is much more brooding and dangerous!
May 5th, 2011 at 4:47 pm
Definitively dark. I’ve always been a sucker for ‘tall, dark and handsome’ :)
May 5th, 2011 at 11:08 pm
Redheads for sure! Have some propensity to fancy redheads in popular culture – it’s a blessed curse. ;) Lately though I’ve been interested in the non-dark types – they seem to be ostracised, poor fellas.
Really love your covers, Kate. I’m a sucker for vibrant colours and lettering. Can’t wait to read them.
May 5th, 2011 at 11:33 pm
Although I married a blond, I’m partial to the Black Irish look – dark hair, fair skins and blue or green eyes. (sigh) You can fan me off now…
May 6th, 2011 at 11:33 am
Redheads are really cute!! But I also like the dark haired hero. And if the blond looks like Alexander Skarsgard I’m ok with that too :) I know, I’m not picky at all.

Just wondering, has a winner been chosen for this giveaway yet?
May 23rd, 2011 at 9:40 pm
Dark hair and light (blue, green, etc.) eyes… There’s nothing yummier! :)
