So, unless you have just stumbled upon the blog in your search for “Who would win in a fight, a mole or a koala,” you know that I’ve got a book coming out. Soon. Very. Very. Soon. In fact, in three weeks and five days, exactly.
It appears that advanced copies are trickling out to reviewers, which is awesome…but unless you’re a book reviewer, you probably won’t be able to find a copy of A Rogue By Any Other Name any time before February 28th, which is sad, I know. *BUT* here’s something awesome! If you preorder the book (or any of my others) from my local Indie (WORD Bookstore in Brooklyn), you will not only receive it in the mail on 2/28 (AT YOUR HOUSE!), but I’ll sign it before shipping it to you!
**ADDITION: If you are an international reader, WORD will happily ship internationally! Contact Stephanie at Word by email, and she will help!
Preorders must be made before 12:00pm on 2/24 for you to get your books on the 28th.
As an added treat, your package will include Rogue bookmarks and this fun “Do Not Disturb” sign from the Love By Numbers series!

And the back:

For those of you who don’t do print books anymore…never fear! While I can’t come to your house and sign your Kindle or Nook…Rogue is out on the e-devices on the same day it’s available in stores! And, you can send me a Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelope, and I’ll happily send you bookmarks and doorhangers! Email the Goodies line for more info on that!
So…tell me…are you a preorderer? A same-day bookstore goer? Or a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants, buy-the-book-whenever-you-happen-to-find-yourself-next-in-a-bookstore book buyer?

I already pre-ordered your book, but I would gladly cancel it and order at your local Indie if they deliver to Germany? Because I would really, really love to have a signed copy of your book. By the way: Here in Germany are many fans of your Love by Numbers series and I can hardly wait for the release date of your without a doubt humorous, wonderful, breathtaking and lovely new book!

Hi Alex! Word is happy to ship to you in Germany! You should email the fabulous Stephanie from WORD (link in the post, above) and she will help you with shipping costs, etc.

It really depends. There are very few books I preorder, because I’m an impulse buyer. If I see a great bargain, I might snap it up, but that’s usually the extent of my pre-order habits. If I’m paying for a book, I generally want to be able to dive into said book 2 seconds after I click “buy” or walk in the door after buying the book in the store.

I pre-order a lot of books from book clubs, if they are available (which I’ve already done for “Rogue”!)Other wise I wait until them come out and get them at the local B&N or Wal-Mart or Target–there is also E-bay, but I usually get older novels that I’ve missed there.

Thanks so much, Alisa! I’m a pre-orderer myself, because I’m terrible about keeping up to date on my calendar, so I like the little surprise packages that show up on my doorstep!

I do all of the above!! I shop at indies (see you on 3/1 at Word), but I also pre-order online for my Nook. It depends on whether I have time to run to the bookstore or whether I’m chained to my desk at work looking for a pick me up.

I just preordered on my nook! I would have loved to come to your WORD signing but unfortunately, I have a night class! :(

I don’t usually preorder books, but I do put the publication date in my phone so I have something to look forward to. If it’s a book I am dying to read I’ve been known to duck out during my lunch break and buy it. The rather sad part about that I work in a library! But when there is an author I love, like you, I just can’t resist adding to my personal library.

As I sit here and try to think how to explain Lothaire, all I can really is say is that he is just one of a kind. There isn’t a lot of gray in his world. He is so old and his arrogance is so ingrained, that it is his way or else. Kresley Cole allows him to fall in love — and still retain these characteristics. Because of his age, and the fact that when he drinks from people, he retains their memories, he is not lucid at all times. He is skirting the edge of insanity and fears he may not make it to exact his revenge.
