What I am loving about thatpicture is that we tend to think of tea with regency women as being so formal and almost snobby...but this was the girls chance to get together as friends and I like how this picture is really showing a friendly teenage get together.

Ah ha! Once I knew the name of the artist, I knew this painting wasn't done during the Regency era. Not only the difference in brush styles and use of color, but it's a very stylized, late Victorian view of the Regency (the clothing is actually closer to the silhouette of the late 1870s/early 1880s than the early 1800s). However, it's still very gorgeous.
