Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord!

I’m pausing the Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake excitement to make an announcement!

I am so thrilled to reveal the title of my next book, Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord, will be released this fall!

Ten Ways is the story of Lord Nicholas St. John, twin (younger by four minutes) brother of the hero of Nine Rules, Gabriel St. John, Marquess of Ralston.  I’m not going to share much about the plot of the book just yet…but in the spirit of A WEEK FROM THE RELEASE OF NINE RULES (omg omg yay!), I give you:

Nine Things That Do Not Appear in Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord
(Or, what happens when an author becomes too meta for her own good.)

1. Justin Bieber
2. Sexting
3. The Zombie Apocalypse
4. The phrase “Haters gonna hate.”
5. Virgin Widows
6. The word “whose.”
7. Were-Turtles (although there is an *actual* turtle!)
8. Internet dating
9. Conan O’Brien (Jay Leno will appear in his place)

And, as an added fun bonus, I just discovered that if you Google 10 Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord, you get a picture of the Bluth Banana Stand.  Frankly, I can’t imagine anything better.  Unfortunately, there are no banana stands (or Bluths) in 10 Ways…. Sorry to disappoint.

OMG OMG OMG! SARAH! I have the chills, yes!!!!!!!!!!! That is a great title!

  • Irish

Hee!!!! I'm with Alea!!! Love the title and can't wait to learn more about the plot! Loved Nick and can't wait to read his story. =D

  • Irish

Although on second though Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord During the Zombie Apocalypse does have a ring to it. Too late to change the plotting? Could be a rival to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. ;-)

  • Sarah MacLean

Awww…thanks for waiting you guys! I know we were torturing you!

As for 10 Ways…during the Zombie Apocalypse…I'm leaving that one for Carrie Ryan.

  • Patti

    Twin *and* younger brother?

  • Sarah MacLean

@Patti…well, he's the younger twin. I don't know. I've altered the description above. For the record, though, Ralston would ABSOLUTELY indicate the "younger" part of that sentence.

  • Alea

Now when do we get to see the cover! :P *kidding sort of!

I hope you know how much I'm squealing over here!!!!

    Yay!

There's always money in the Banana Stand…

  • Rowena

Yay, I'm really excited for Nicholas' book. I thought he was such a cutie patootie in Nine Ways and I can't wait to read this one! I anxiously await more news.

Too bad there's no Justin Bieber, he rocks! I don't care that I'm old enough to be his mother, I still dance to his music in my car.

  • Sarah MacLean

Thanks all! I'm excited about Nick's story, too…I hope you all will be excited once you've read about Gabriel!

@Rowena – OMG! You've read it! Thanks for coming over and checking out the blog!

  • Rowena

    Hey Sarah,

Yes! I've read it, my book blog, Book Binge reviews books for Avon so we got an ARC of the book and I'm excited to promote it on Book Binge. I'm actually buying your YA book and am going to read that soon too.

HUZZAH! I love 9 Rules – can't wait for 10 Ways. Although to tell the truth, I'm greedily anxious for Juliana's story!

Congrats on the 10 Ways! I'm so excited to read it! I loved Nick in 9 Rules ( I loved 9 Rules in general)! And I agree with Kelly I hope you do Juliana's story too!

  • Kelly Fineman

It occurs to me that I'd like to know about Benedick's match as well. I had to stop back to say so. Not that this is within your control, and I know you've got a contract for Nick & Juliana. Still, you totally rocked this romance.

Now for a return to The Season . . .

Gotta love the Bluth Banana Stand!

Sarah, I just finished "Nine Rules" about 5 minutes ago and completely loved it. I was sad to find out that you don't have any other Historical Romances published yet. :( Patience has never been a virtue for me. Thanks for a fantastic read and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one this fall.

This fall is NOT soon enough!!!

I just finished reading "Nine Rules"… It was literally the best historical I have read in YEARS. I read a ridiculous amount of books, usually just over 200 a year and yours truly shone above the rest. It was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. There wasn't a single point in the book I would change. (Usually when I read, I secretly want a red pen to fix some things) The dialogue was perfect, the love scenes were perfect, the pacing was perfect, the characters were perfect – I loved every single one of them (except for the Baron, but hey, you have to have an antagonist.) Thank you so much for the amazing book, I'm going to re-read it tonight, I just loved it so much.

Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing A Lord is a clever title, as was Nine Rules To Break When Romancing a Rake. I initially picked up the book because the title was so clever.

I, also, really want to hear Julianna’s story. But I really loved Nick, as well, so I am eager to hear his story. But I want to hear them RIGHT NOW! :-) Why can’t fabulous writing and publication happen overnight??

I just read 9 Rules and have to give you much props on a GREAT book. I throughly enjoyed it cover to cover. Now I am counting the months for the next book wich I am thrilled to know it will be Nicks. Hopefully you have a book in mind for Juliana which I am also excited about.

  • Noaimhere

    I can't wait for 10 ways! :) I LOVED 9 Rules.

    Sarah,

I have read both of your books and I loved them! I am so excited about Nick's story! I am also hoping for a book about Julianna (with the Duke of Leighton)! I am convinced that if anyone is capable of changing his arrogant ways, it's Julianna!

Just got back from RT2010 and just wanted to let you know that your's was the first book I had read all week. In fact, on the plane I had a group of women ask me about it. Hopefully some new fans!! Looking forward to Nick's story but I really can't wait for Juliana's.
    Keep you the great work!!!!

  • itzdreamin

Just read 9 Rules and fell in love with the characters. What an amazing book. I had to search to see what happened next and am ecstatic to see that you are writing more. I really want to know what happens to Julianna. I'll say it again, one of the best regency romances I have read in quite a while.

  • jasmineha

I really loved 9 Rules! I thought that Callie was one of the most relatable heroines of the regencys I've read. My first thought on her was "Bridget Jones"!!!! Loved it, can't wait for the next book!

  • therocknmama

I just finished Nine Rules to Romancing a Rake….and I loved it!!!! Was hopeing Nick's story was out already, but it looks like I'm going to have to wait (which I suck at)…thanks for keeping me entertained this weekend

  • blonde unicorn

  • Deb

Sarah, I loved Nine Rules and can't wait for Ten Ways! I was hoping for Nick's story, but would also like Benedick's and Juliana's, too, LOL!

Thanks for a great romance read in Nine Rules; it's a keeper for me!

  • Kristina

You're only saying that "haters gonna hate" doesn't make an appearance because, of course, it'd be "haters doth do hate" in the book. Amirite or am I right?

I hope we find out how he got his scar.
